20 bridges

20broerSince Copenhagen is a city with a harbour and quite a few canals, it has a number of bridges as well. Still, when another runner challenged me to make a course with as many bridges as possible, it surprised me that it’s possible to cross 20* bridges in 7 kilometres. But it is, and I ran the course last week with a great group of expats. Nice evening in the best company.
So if you’re coming to Copenhagen and don’t really know what you’d like to see with me, we could run the bridges.
(*It’s 21 actually, but only 20 of them have a name. -And that’s only the number I was able to fit in 7 km. -Copenhagen has quite a few more bridges than that.)

parkrun!

img_1384Do you know parkrun? Parkun is organising runs in 20 countries worldwide with more than 3 million registered participants. 5 k every Saturday (in some places 2 k junior runs on Sundays too) and always free, and all you have to do is register once and then just show up. Race or jog, that’s up to you. Copenhagen has three parkruns to choose from. You should try it! Look it up at parkrun.com.
Anyway, last week I had the privilege of running with Matthew🇬🇧 who apart from running at least twice at much as me (and twice as fast 😉), is organising the Desborough junior parkrun, back home in England. While he was here, he even visited four parkrun sites. Excellent company!

The Estonian tradition

1EB29C56-2AD2-46C8-A9B4-5F464ED3F862It seems Estonians have a strong tradition of giving chocolate to run buddies abroad when travelling. This morning I ran with Alo from Estonia🇪🇪, who tipped me with chocolate, just like Jaana did two months ago. (Possibly it’s because they’re friends back in Estonia, though. 🤔)
Couldn’t help taking his picture at the exact same place as Jaana’s. 😉
Alo is the third guest I’ve had that came because of a recommendation from a friend. -Send all of your friends my way!!! 😊

Tips competition ON! or The vanity of trail runners

PNG-billede 2.png

A few weeks ago I shared a post about the “tips” I received from Jaana🇪🇪, in the form of Estonian chocolate.
It seems the competition is on. Last week I ran with Sarah and Mark, two teachers from Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 in Copenhagen for the second time. After our run, they gave me this. A buff and a pin from Marks “hobby”, volunteering in a mountain rescue team.
If you participate in trail races during winter, like I often do, any runner would like to casually flash the coolest buff. And the coolest buff is officially mine now. 😊✌️
And by the way. Since Sarah and Mark had already been here once before and had seen the sights, they asked if I would show them something else. So now there’s the “Where We Actually Live”-course.
